Surprise Your Kids With These 6 Fun Activities

As a parent, you must spend quality time with your children but planning something fun with and for them can be difficult if you are not creative. Many people assume that you will need to go out of your way to surprise your kids or spend great amounts of money, but this is certainly not the case. There are a number of things you can do even if you are on a budget.

This article will provide you with six fun activities to surprise your kids so that you can have some fun together.

Outdoor Home Cinema

Most children enjoy watching movies – this can be even more fun when you do it together as a family. However, going out to the cinema can be extremely expensive. A way you can enjoy this and make something different and fun is by creating an outdoor home cinema. This will work well if you have a back garden or if you do not, you can use the nearest park to you. You can do this without spending a lot of money – buy a projector and put up a tent and decorate the area with pillows, blankets, and fairy lights. Do not forget your kids’ favorite snacks and drinks to complement the night!

Arrange Gel Balling

If you are looking to get out of the house and get your children to exercise, it may be a good idea to consider gel balling. This is similar to paintball which you may already be familiar with. You will want to research where you can get the necessary items as it is recommended you get professional equipment, including GBU tactical kits and accessories. This can be great fun for the entire family and it will certainly be a way for everyone to release energy. Do not worry as this sport is safe and being hit with the gel balls is less painful than the paintballs.

Have a ‘Yes Day’

This may sound scary to most parents, but it will be a great surprise for the majority of kids. Parents often say ‘no’ to things kids ask simply because they cannot be bothered to get out of their daily routine. A ‘yes day’ simply means not being able to say no to your kids, no matter what they ask. You can set some rules beforehand so that your child does not ask for something risky. As long as the activity is safe, you must say yes. It will be liberating for the child to be given that much freedom and trust and even you will see that you will enjoy the day as kids are so creative and you will have a memorable experience that will last a lifetime.

Have a Parent-Child Date

Spending quality time with your children is crucial for their well-being and for your relationship to develop in a positive way. If you have more than one child, you can do this all together, but it is recommended you take turns and spend time on a date with each child individually. You want to make sure that you pay full attention to the child and that the day is all about them – this can be difficult to achieve unless you spend time on a one-to-one basis. You can ask the child what they would like to do or use your knowledge of them to plan a day you know they will enjoy.

Plan a Surprise Playdate

The surprises for your kids do not always have to involve you – you can arrange for them to spend some time with their best friend. Make contact with the parents and you can have a playdate for an afternoon or have a sleepover – how the playdate goes will depend on the age of your kid. Your child will certainly appreciate the effort you put into arranging the playdate. Spending some time with their friends is vital for their wellbeing and it will also give you a bit of a break whilst your kid has all the fun.

Enjoy a Baking Session Together

Baking is an educational activity and you can have fun during it and after as you enjoy your treats. Let your child choose a recipe of something they would like to bake and eat and help them to follow the instructions. Make sure that all the ingredients are available beforehand so that you do not get disappointed that you cannot perform effectively. Even if you do not usually enjoy baking, there are very easy recipes out there and even videos online that you can follow.

If you want to surprise your kids with a few activities the ideas discussed on this page are a good place to start. However, there are many more that you can choose from. Just think about what your child enjoys doing and they will certainly be surprised and appreciate whatever you plan for them.
